Influencing the behavior of consumer The behavior of the customers can be influenced by various factors. This helped me to learn and to gain more knowledge in the field of marketing. These include purchasing power of the consumers, group influence, personal preferences, economic conditions, marketing campaigns, benefits and attitudes of the consumers, perception of the consumers regarding the brand and its products and services (Keegan and Green 2013). It also includes motivation of the consumers also affect their buying nature, psychological factors, personal factors such as occupation, age, lifestyle, economic situation, personality, social factors include family, reference groups, roles and status and cultural factors like culture, social class and subculture. It can also be defined as the target market that has common interests, priorities and needs. Thus, the marketers design and implement the various strategies in order to target them. Therefore, it can be said that in case of market segmentation, the marketers divide a market into many segments depending on the age, nature of the consumers, demographic and economic status of the customers (Hawkins and Mothersbaugh 2013). On the other hand, the positioning of product is defined as an important element of the marketing plan. The marketers use this element in determining the best method of communicating the attributes of products to their target consumers on the basis of the needs of the customers, compe titive pressures, and availability of communication channels and carefully design the primary message (Elliott, Rundle-Thiele and Waller 2012). For example the products of the brand Patagonia are spread across the country due to its good product positioning. In addition to all these units of marketing, I studied the unit named advertising and promotion. As I get interest in studying this subject, I studied this additional unit from which I came to know the importance of advertising and promotion in marketing and selling a product. This study will help me in my future studies and better understanding of the subject. Death penalty is a cruel, futile and dangerous punishment for very serious reasons and with due judicial process. According to  Amnesty International, a worldwide movement of people working for internationally recognized human rights; death penalty is the ultimate, irreversible denial of human rights. Thus, they worked towards abolishing it in order to end the cycle of violence created by a system riddled with economic and racial bias and tainted with human error. BACKGROUND Next, I would like to present a brief background on death penalty in the Philippines. In 1987, the Philippines made history by becoming the first Asian country in modern times to abolish the death penalty for all crimes. Majority of the 1200 people on the death row are poor. Maybe, for some, being there is what they deserve. But for many, it is poverty that brought them there. Not everyone in that row should die. Many are simply there because they ran against some filthy rich and powerful person or they could not afford to get a good lawyer to defend them. A study showed that death penalty is anti-poor as the underprivileged who cannot afford the services of competent counsels are oftentimes the ones convicted of death penalty. Studies have shown that the death penalty is disproportionately imposed on the poorest, least educated and most vulnerable members of society. It takes the lives of offenders who might otherwise have been rehabilitated. Lastly, death penalty does not live up to its purpose. It is not able to serve its purpose which is to prevent crimes and to preserve peace and order. According to the President, in a letter she sent to Senate President Franklin M. Drilon, the imposition of death penalty was shown to have not served its principal purpose of effectively deterring the commission of heinous crimes. Clearly, even with death penalty imposed, the Philippines still continued to project high and rising crime rates in the country. If death penalty is effective, there should have been less crimes but it is quite the contrary. Also, there are no concrete evidence like studies or tests that could prove that the imposition of death penalty really prevents crime thus maintaining peace and order in the country. The experience left her thinking a lot about death, what in her life was of value, what she wanted to do while she had time, and with whom she should spend those hours.   While she knew she wanted to define these objectives, Chang says that she struggled to maintain perspective.   She wondered if others felt similarly adrift. Chang noticed that there was an old, abandoned home in her New Orleans neighborhood, a perfect canvas for expression. She, along with a group of friends, painted one side of the home in chalkboard paint and created a Before I die ___________________ stencil: Chang had no idea what to expect. But she and her friends attached little baskets of chalk to the sides and stepped away to wait and see: To Changs great delight and surprise, the very next day,   the wall was bursting with handwritten responses and it kept growing:  Before I die I want to†¦ sing for millions, hold her one more time, eat a salad with an alien, see my daughter graduate,  abandon all insecurities, plant a tree,  straddle the International Date Line,  be completely myself†¦.
